Carbs in strawberries
Strawberries are a great low carb fruit with just 5.68g net carbohydrates per 100g serving. As well as being low in carbs, they are high in fiber and a great source of vitamin C.
Ingredients
Just 3 recipes make this easy low carb dessert:
- Fresh Strawberries - the fresher the better.
- Cream - heavy cream or whipping cream
- Allulose - our favourite low carb sweetener but any other low carb sweetener such as monk fruit or erythritol can be used. Powdered is better as it dissolves well with the strawberry puree.
How to make keto strawberry mousse
This low carb mousse is possibly the easiest keto dessert you will make. The strawberries are blended, the cream is whipped and the two mixtures combined. You are then ready to serve, but it is better serve chilled.
Storing and Freezing
Store the strawberry mousse in the refrigerator and keep it covered. It will last up to 4 days.
This can be frozen and should be placed in an air tight container. It will last up to 4 months. You could enjoy it frozen for an easy ice cream too!
Serving suggestions
As you can see by the photos we have serve this fluffy mousse in a glass and also in hand made chocolate cups. The flavor combination of chocolate and strawberries is always a crowd pleaser!
To make the chocolate cups, we melted sugar free chocolate chips and brushed the inside of a silicone muffin case. The cases went into the freezer for 10 minutes to firm, and the process repeated a few times for firm chocolate shells.
Recipe Tips
If you would like a cheesecake tasting mousse, add 8 oz of cream cheese.
When preparing the strawberries, place the chopped tops into a jug of water and store in the fridge for a refreshing flavoured water.
Try this with roasted strawberries for a deeper flavour. Roast the strawberries for 20 minutes at 180C/350F degrees, then allow to cool before processing in the blender.
Low Carb Mousse Variations
The great thing about this recipe is that it can be easily adapted for other flavors. Substitute the strawberries with other low carb berries such as raspberries or blackberries.
If you are making this into a cheesecake mouse try it with lemon juice for a lemon mousse or sugar free cocoa for a chocolate mousse.

Frequently Asked Questions
Frozen strawberries can be used and it would result in an icier mousse. They can be used frozen or defrosted.
If you want to make a dairy free variation you could substitute the heavy whipping cream with coconut milk or coconut cream. The addition of gelatin would help the mousse set.
If you want to make this ahead of serving for dinner or a gathering, let it chill for at least an hour. Ideally two hours for it to firm.

Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups strawberries sliced
- ½ cup allulose or other low carb sweetener
- 1 cup cream heavy/whipping
Instructions
- Place the strawberries and allulose in a blender and blitz until smooth.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk the cream until stiff peaks are formed.
- Stir in the strawberry puree until you have an even colour.
- Spoon into serving glasses and chill for an hour before serving.
