Cottage cheese pizza made with almond flour is a delicious high protein and keto-friendly twist on traditional pizza. This recipe features a unique crust made with cottage cheese and almond flour, creating a soft and chewy base that’s both keto-friendly and gluten-free and 22 grams of protein per serving.
We enjoyed this recipe and it makes a fairly firm thin crust pizza base. Next time I will bake it longer to see how crispy I can get it without burning it! It was firm enough to pick up a slice and satisfied my pizza craving for lunch that day!

The creamy cottage cheese and almond flour crust brings a unique texture that's both soft and slightly chewy, giving it a homemade feel.
Ingredients
Just a few ingredients are all you need to make this cottage cheese pizza crust. We kept the toppings to a minimal but you can add your favorite pizza toppings.
- Cottage Cheese - Adds moisture and protein to the crust, giving it a creamy texture while keeping it light and flavorful.
- Almond Flour - Provides a low-carb, gluten-free base for the crust, offering a nutty flavor and slight crunch.
- Eggs - Act as a binding agent, helping the crust hold together and providing extra protein.
- Mozzarella Cheese - Melts beautifully on top of the pizza, creating a classic cheesy finish
- Marinara Sauce - Make sure you use a low carb Marinara sauce. If you purchase store bought Marinara sauce or pizza sauce, check the labels for sugars.
- Italian Seasoning - A mix of herbs like basil, oregano, and thyme that adds an aromatic, Italian-inspired flavor to the crust.
- Garlic Powder - Infuses the crust with a subtle garlic flavor that enhances the overall taste.
How to Make Cottage Cheese Pizza
This is similar to our cottage cheese flatbread recipe, in that the cottage cheese is blended with eggs to make a smooth mixture for the pizza crust.
Blend cottage cheese, eggs and seasoning.
Add to the almond flour.
Mix well until smooth.
Spoon onto parchment paper and bake, ready for toppings.
Recipe Tips
- If your cottage cheese is particularly watery, drain off any excess liquid. This will help prevent the crust from becoming soggy.
- While the classic marinara and mozzarella are delicious, feel free to get creative with toppings! Consider adding vegetables, meats, or different types of cheeses to suit your taste.
- Spray the parchment paper with oil to prevent the cottage cheese pizza crust from sticking.
- Depending on the moisture content of your cottage cheese, you may need to adjust the amount of almond flour. Start with the recommended amount and add more as needed.
Storage
Wrap the cooled pizza crust tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, or place it in an airtight container. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
If you’ve already topped the crust with sauce and cheese, store it in an airtight container. It’s best eaten within 1-2 days for optimal freshness.
When reheating, use an oven or air fryer instead of the microwave to keep the crust crispy.
