Making these air fryer camembert bites is a quick and easy low carb and gluten free appetizer. Camembert wedges are coated in almond flour and egg, air fried and served with a cranberry sauce.
Breaded camembert wedges are normally baked in the oven or deep fried but for a healthier and crispy keto version we reached for our air fryer. The topping was crispy with melted, gooey cheese in the center. Served with cranberry sauce for a tasty combination of sweet and sharp.
This were delicious and best served straight from the air fryer for the joy of melted, warm cheese! We had a couple of wedges leak the cheese so I scooped it out of the air fryer and drizzled it over the offending wedges. One way or another, I was eating air fried cheese!

Carbs in Camembert
Camembert cheese is naturally low in carbohydrates, making it a suitable choice for those who are following a low-carb or keto diet. The exact carbohydrate content can vary slightly depending on the brand and specific product, but typically, Camembert cheese contains less than 1 gram of carbohydrates per ounce (28 grams). It's primarily composed of fat and protein, making it a keto-friendly cheese option.
Ingredients
All you need to make this air fryer camembert recipe is a few low carb friendly ingredients.
- Camembert - choose a wheel of camembert that is firm. Too soft would be too ripe.
- Almond flour - is a great low carb replacement for a crispy breaded coating. Ground pork rinds could be substituted.
- Italian seasoning - the almond flour coating tastes better when seasoned. We used Italian seasoning but rosemary and thyme works great too.
- Egg - helps bind the seasoned almond flour to the camembert wedges.
- Cranberry sauce - an optional side serving to the cooked cheese and a great way to use up any leftover cranberry sauce.
How to Make Air Fryer Camembert Wedges
The camembert wedges need to be completely coated before cooking. We double dip the coating.
Slice the camembert wedges into wedges.
Prepare a dipping station.
Cover the cheese wedges in the coating and place in the air fryer.
Cook until golden and serve with cranberry sauce.
Storage
These air fried camembert bites are best served fresh from the air fryer. If you do have any leftovers, they can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container. They will only be good for another day. Reheat them before consuming.
Recipe Tips
Freeze the almond flour coated camembert bites for an hour before cooking to help prevent the cheese from melting too quickly during the cooking process.
Lightly spray the Camembert with cooking spray or brush it with a small amount of oil. This helps achieve a golden and crispy exterior.
Consider using parchment paper in the air fryer basket to prevent the cheese from sticking to the basket and making cleanup easier.
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). This will ensure that it's hot and ready when you're ready to cook the Camembert.
Baking Camembert Wedges
If you don't have an air fryer, these Camembert wedges can be baked in the oven. Follow the covering process in the recipe card and bake in the oven on a parchment paper lined baking sheet at 200C/400F degrees for 10 - 15 minutes, until the coating is crispy.
Camembert Bites Serving Suggestions
As well as being a delicious flavor combination to cranberry sauce serve these air fryer camembert bites with keto mumbo sauce, a garlic aioli or marinara sauce.

Such a wonderful easy starter. We are having this for Christmas. I used ground almonds and also paprika instead of Italian seasoning
