This Everything Bagel Salmon fillet dish is an easy low carb salmon recipe for lovers of the bagel seasoning. The crunchy topping has all the flavours of sesame seeds, garlic, onion and salt.

Pan fried in butter, these salmon fillets are ready in under 15 minutes making this a great keto dish for when you are in a hurry.

Everything Bagel Seasoning

If you can’t find the Everything Bagel Seasoning, you can make your own. That way you can also “tweak” the recipe to your own tastes. Make a larger batch of the seasoning and keep in a sealed jar to use in other recipes.

The Everything seasoning is comprised of:

  • Sesame seeds - black & white
  • Dried minced garlic
  • Dried onion flakes
  • Salt - sea or flaked
  • Poppy seeds

Recipe Tips

Add grated Parmesan cheese to the topping for an extra flavour.

To check that the salmon is cooked through, watch the sides of the fish, especially on the fatter side of your filet, to see when the middle looks white.

You could bake these salmon dish instead of pan frying it. Sear the fish in a pan first then bake in the oven for 6-8 minutes at 200C/400F degrees.

Ingredients
 
 

  • 4 salmon fillets skin optional
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Everything Bagel Seasoning

  • 1 ½ teaspoon dried minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds white
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds black
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt flaked or coarse

Instructions
 

Everything Bagel Seasoning

  • In a small bowl, place all the seasoning ingredients and stir.
  • Sprinkle the seasoning over the top side of the salmon fillets.
  • Heat the butter in a large frying pan on a medium heat.
  • Place the salmon fillets seed side up and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Flip the fillets over and cook for a further 6-8 minutes until the salmon has cooked through.
  • Serve immediately.
