Sugar free almond butter is easy to make yourself and a lot cheaper too!  It is an easy low carb recipe to make with a food processor.

You can use either blanched almonds or almonds in their skin.   Other nuts such as cashew can be used to make this too.  Processing nuts through a food processor will result in a delicious nut butter.

    almond butter

Almond butter is an essential ingredient one of our favourite chocolate brownies recipes.  It also makes a great fat bomb too!   If you make this yourself, you can be assured that there are no preservatives or sneaky chemicals added too!  All natural, all good, all Divalicious!

    Recipe Tips

As you process the nuts in a food processor to make the almond butter the heat may not be enough to make a smooth and you might need to add a tablespoon or two of coconut oil.

Okay I just saw this: do we need to add water or something into the food processor with the almonds? I'm sorry if this sounds EXTREMELY stupid but I rarely cook so when I do, I ask stupid questions and drive my Mom [and in this case, you] nuts.

Lol! No problems Devina....No need to add water..just keep processing the almonds until the heat makes the nuts go into a paste. You will need to scrape down the sides every so often. But it cheaper than buying jars of the stuff.
