This is a lovely refreshing drink which can be drunk as it is, or you can add the spirit of your choice and use it as a mixer.    I just love the blend of lemon grass with the ginger syrup and the mint gives the drink a bit of "zing" to it.

The vodka that I added gave an extra zing too..hee hee...

    INGREDIENTS

    4 stalks of lemon grass,sliced
    3 ½ cups water
    ½ cup ginger syrup
2 cups water (sparkling or still)
    1 cup fresh mint leaves
    2 limes, cut into wedges

    METHOD

    1. Blend the lemon grass and 1 cup of  water in a blender. Strain, and pour into a large jug.
    2. Combine the lemon grass liquid, ginger syrup and rest of the water in a jug.   Mix well.  Add the mint and lime.
    3. Add your tipple of choice (optional)
    4. Drink and enjoy!

How much does this make? How much "spirit" would you add?

It made a large jug so I think that is about 2 litres. The "spirit" could be what suits your taste.

Ooooh, I'm thinking Hendricks Gin would be glorious with this! 🙂
      Thanks for the recipe!
