Low Carb Marinara Sauce
Servings: 6 servings
An easy low cab marinara sauce is a keto kitchen staple.
- 14 oz tomatoes fresh or canned
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion peeled & chopped
- 3 cloves garlic peeled & chopped
- 2 tablespoons Tomato puree
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 1 tablespoon Dried parsley
- ⅓ cup Parmesan cheese grated
- 2 bay leaves
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Heat the oil in a saucepan on a medium heat. Add the garlic and onions and saute for 3 - 5 minutes until soft.
Add the tomatoes, oregano, parsley, bay leaves and bring to the boil.
Add the tomato puree, season with the salt & pepper,cover the saucepan with a lid and simmer for 20 minutes.
Remove the bay leaves.
It's ready to serve!
Servings are based on ¼ cup (60g)
This will be a chunky sauce, but for a smoother sauce, process in a blender.
The net carbs will be the total carb count minus the fibre count. Carb count excludes sugar alcohols.
