Low carb onion hamburger buns are a great addition to your barbecue or grilled burgers.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • ½ cup oat fiber
  • 1 tablespoon 9g psyllium husk powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 4 medium eggs
  • ¼ cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 tablespoon dried onions for the topping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180C/350F degrees.
  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl place all the dry ingredients and mix well.
  • In another medium bowl, whisk the eggs until fluffy.
  • Spoon in the yogurt and whisk until smooth.
  • Pour the egg mixture into the dry mixture and stir well.
  • Sprinkle the apple cider vinegar over the dough and mix into a dough.
  • Add the warm water a tablespoon at time until you have a smooth dough. You may not need all 4 tablespoons.
  • Using damp hands, section the dough into 4 and form 4 burger buns.
  • Place the burger buns on the baking tray and sprinkle the dried onions on the top.
  • Bake for 30 minutes until golden and firm.

Notes

Makes 4 buns at 6g net carbs each
