Gel Air Freshner – Homemade

This is a chemical free way of scenting your home and is so simple to make.

INGREDIENTS

2 cups water

4 sachets of Vege Gel (you could use gelatin but I don’t use it).

15 – 20 drops essential oil  (your choice, your smell)

2  tbs salt (this stops mold so is essential)

Food colouring

METHOD

  1. In a saucepan mix oil, colouring and water and bring to the boil.
  2. Dissolve the Vege Gel and mix well.
  3. Pour into clean jars and let set for a couple of days.  Cover with lids, make a few holes in the lids and voila, home made fragrance gel!

I love this idea and your site. I really am trying to cut out as many chemicals from my life as possible and this seems like something I would really like to try.

Where can I find Vege Gel? I am not familiar with this.

    Thank you so much.

Thank you so much! I buy mine from Spinneys, but it should be in large supermarkets such as Carrefour or Geant. You could use gelatine, but I am vegetarian so only use Vege Gel.
