Tofu can be an healthy alternative to crisps. What a surprise it was to find out that slices of Tofu could be so tasty….the secret is in the flavourings..as tofu has no taste but happily soaks up whatever is coated on it. We love this dish and many a Thursday night cook up batches of this and feel fairly shocked that we have spent the evening munching merrily on tofu.
1 block firm Tofu.
Oil for shallow frying.
Flavourings……garlic salt, pepper, mixed herb, chilli, grated parmesan, salt and pepper,….whatever you want. It’s your tofu, your choice.
- Cut the tofu into thin crisp like slices. Pat with kitchen towel to remove as much moisture as you can.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan, and fry the tofu slices. Turn them over when golden in colour and cook the other side.
- Remove and put on kitchen paper to drain any excess oil. Sprinkle the flavourings on the tofu, eat and enjoy. These do not keep for a long time so best eaten whilst still warm.
- Eat and enjoy!
